Q – What kind of jobs do you have besides restaurant servers?
A – The services of the U-Club require a large staff doing a variety of jobs, including accountants, chefs, bakers, event planners, lifeguards, receptionists, certified fitness professionals, bartenders, child care assistants, marketing specialists, banquet supervisors, housekeepers, pantry, kitchen utility, janitorial and set up staff.
Q – Does the University Club provide opportunities for training and advancement?
A – Yes! In addition to on-the-job training, the U-Club offers employees various opportunities to attend professional seminars, workshops, and conferences. Promotion from within is considered at every opportunity. Q – If I work at the University Club, am I an MSU employee?
A – Each of our staff members is an employee of the University Club, a private membership club that is separate and independently incorporated as a not-for-profit business. Benefits for full-time employees are quite comparable to general benefits provided to full-time university employees.
Q – I don’t have a car right now - is there bus service to the University Club from Lansing, or from the MSU campus?
A – Yes, the Capital Area Transit Authority - CATA Bus Route #20 -- South Harrison-Jolly-Dunckel -- provides regular bus service to the Forest Road stop by the Candlewood Suites Hotel, just a short walk to the University Club
Q – Can relatives of current employees apply for jobs at the Club?
A – Yes, relatives and friends of current employees may apply for positions at the University Club. Please note the name of your friend or relative as a reference on your employment application.
