  A.I.M. Training

Take A.I.M. at fitness with our program designed to help you with Adherence, Incentive, and Motivation (A.I.M.). This is
a three-month personal coaching program, designed for those members who need a
fresh new look at their workout routines.

Your trainer will create a program designed specifically for you and then contact you weekly to review your exercise journal,
modify your program, set new weekly goals, or fine-tune your nutrition. You’ll also receive a skin fold body composition assessment and muscular strength test.

Exercising with a group often provides just the motivation you need to keep your
appointment with your workout! The U-Club Fitness Center offers an extensive series of ongoing group exercise and aerobics classes, which are free for all Fitness members. Classes are changed quarterly to add variety and interest to your fitness activities. Sign
up for one, or several; stick with the program that works for you, or try something new!

2010 U-Club Iron Member Competition  
Congratulations to all the members who completed the "Iron Member Competition" at the U-Club yesterday! This formidable event consisted of a ½-mile swim in the U-Club pool, a 10-mile bike ride on the Spinner Pro stationary bike, followed by a 5K (3.1 mile) run through the U-Club grounds.

Special recognition goes to the participants with the best overall times:
Male Winner - Neil Wright (time 63:33)
Female Winner - Shari Lavigne (time 73:48)
Kudos to all the members who trained for and finished this competition - you're all winners in our book!

Saturday, October 30, 2010 • Spartan Stadium

Join the U-Club team for the American Lung Association’s
2010 Fight for Air Climb. Participants will gather to climb the
stadium stairs to raise money to fund lung health research,
education, and advocacy. This event will not only help those
plagued with lung health issues, but also push you to achieve
your own fitness goals.

Club Gold ~ Senior Fitness Program


This group program is designed for people with a medical condition that benefits from or limits exercise, including (but not limited to) arthritis, high blood pressure, poor balance, fibromyalgia, and osteoporosis. An exercise physiologist will prescribe a program of cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility exercises that each participant completes on their own, and will then monitor participants for proper form and signs of medical distress. A medical release form from a physician may be necessary. New participants are required to complete a Club Gold orientation.

Club Gold - Forever Fit Class
Exercise Program for Ages 50+ • 10:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Join our instructor Amy Larsen on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a class to keep your body
active and moving. This class incorporates strength training, flexibility, and endurance
exercises through the use of free weights, bands, and other fitness equipment. Blood
pressure screenings and informational lectures by our exercise physiologists are also
included. Join us today, and add years to your life.

Youth Personal Training
As middle and high school sports become more competitive, many young athletes are looking for a competitive edge.  The U-Club's degreed and certified personal training staff can help you become faster and stronger using state-of-the-art equipment, training techniques, and nutritional counseling.  Be the best at your sport and reach your true potential*.
One-hour session:   $45-$60**
30-minute session:  $30-$40**

*Group Youth Personal Training Sessions are available upon request
**Prices vary based on the level of trainer you select

Workout with your friends

As a Fitness member, it's easy to bring your friends to your favorite class with you by arranging for a guest pass. Guest passes are valid for a full day of access to the Fitness Center & Spa. Give us a call now to inquire about guest passes, or for more information on group classes: 517-353-5113.
Private Group Exercise or Aerobics

If you have a group of friends or family who enjoy working out together, a Certified Group Exercise Instructor is available to lead a class just for you and your guests. Let us schedule a private group class, such a Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Cycling, Body Sculpting, or Circuit Training, exclusively for your group at the time that works best for you.
